BYD India will Launch The Sealion 7 by March 2025
The Sealion 7 will be released by BYD India by March of this year. Prior to revealing its pricing, the coupe-SUV will premiere in India at the Auto Expo 2025, which begins on January 17. BYD India will also showcase its current lineup of electric cars, which includes the BYD eMax 7 MPV, Atto 3 SUV, and Seal sedan, in addition to the Sealion 7.
The BYD Sealion 7, which debuted last year, is currently available for purchase in China and a few European countries. BYD’s sleek coupe-SUV, which is marketed as a cost-effective alternative to the Tesla Model Y abroad, has many design elements in common with the Seal sedan, which is available for purchase in India. Its headlight and taillamp configurations are identical, and its front and rear bumpers are more aggressively designed. With the exception of a sizable spinning screen that has been a defining characteristic of the majority of BYD models, the inside is mostly identical to that of the Seal sedan. The Sealion 7 has FWD and RWD abroad and is around 4.8 meters long.

The Sealion 7 coupe-SUV is equipped with BYD’s cutting-edge Blade battery system and runs on the company’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo-born electric architecture. Two battery options—82.5kWh and 91.3kWh—with a maximum range of 502km are available for the SUV.
In terms of cost, the Sealion 7 will be priced more in the Indian market than the Seal sedan, which retails for Rs 41 lakh ex-showroom. The Sealion 7 may not have a direct competitor in India, but it will face off against vehicles like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6. When the BYD Sealion 7 SUV makes its debut in India later this month, expect more information about its specifications and features. BYD India has also announced that the number of cities in its India showroom network, which stands at 27 currently, will go up to 40 this year.
