BYD eMax 7 MPV Launched At Rs 26.9 Lakh With An NEDC Range Of Up To 530km

BYD India has launched the new eMax 7 MPV, which is the facelift for the e6 MPV. Its Price starts from Rs 26.9 lakh for the entry-level Premium trim and goes up to Rs 29.9 lakh for the top-spec Superior trim. The eMax 7 is a 3-row electric MPV that is in direct competition with the Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid (Rs 25.97 lakh-30.98 lakh) in the Indian market. Deliveries are expected to begin in the coming weeks.

The Top-spec Superior trim gets ADAS suite, panoramic glass roof with 71.8kWh battery (530km range) and the Premium trim gets 55.4kWh battery (420km range). The updated version of the e6 electric MPV that has been around since 2021, whereas the eMax 7 gets a subtle facelift on the outside, powertrain updates, and a long list of features. BYD eMax 7 MPV has gone on sale in two trims, each with 6- and 7-seat layouts and the booking opened for a token amount of Rs 51,000.

The eMax 7 sports restyled headlamps and tail-lamps, while the bumpers get a completely new design, with added chrome elements at both ends. There are also new design 17-inch alloys, shod in 225/55 R17 tyres. The MPV is available in four colour options: Quartz Blue, Harbour Grey, Crystal White, and Cosmos Black.

It also gets a new steering wheel but retains analogue dials with a 5-inch LCD MID for the instrument cluster. The top-spec eMax 7 Superior comes with Level 2 ADAS tech, a fixed panoramic glass roof, powered and ventilated front seats, frameless front wipers, and roof rails. Among safety features the MPV has six airbags, front and rear disc brakes, and a 360-degree camera as standard on both trims. The biggest update is the larger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen, which has been increased by almost 2 inches on the e6. The eMax 7 has soft-touch materials all around, including on the dashboard panels. The centre console has been slightly revised and features two wireless charging pads, some new switchgear, and a new drive selector lever.

The customers have been given a battery pack option. The Premium gets a 55.4kWh unit with an NEDC range of 420km, while the Superior has a 71.8kWh unit with 530km of range. While the Premium trim gets 163hp of power. The premium trim clocks 0-100kph time in 10.1 seconds, the Superior has 204hp and a clocks 0-100kph time in 8.6 seconds. However, both trims would get 310Nm. That’s a big jump from the 95hp and 180Nm outputs of the outgoing e6 MPV. While both trims get a 7kW AC charger as standard, the Premium’s battery can be charged with 89kW DC fast charging, while the Superior’s pack gets a 115kW range.
