Srivaru Holding launched Prana 2.0, a premium all-electric two-wheeler motorcycle, in an event in Chennai, at a price starting from Rs. 2,55,150. The electric bike was unveiled by the founder and CEO of Srivaru Motors at the event. The launch of electric motorcycles in India taps into the growing youth interest and premiumization trend fuelled by economic expansion.
The Coimbatore-headquartered company aims to sell about 10,000 units besides exporting the products to ASEAN countries (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). Srivaru Motors is backed by NASDAQ-listed SRIVARU Holding Ltd. in the United States and has introduced its maiden product, an electric motorcycle, PRANA, in 2021 with a total capital infusion of USD 15 million.

Mohanraj Ramasamy, Founder and CEO of Srivaru Motors, emphasised, “Tamil Nadu accounts for more than 40% of the country’s electric vehicle demand, giving us an edge in a rapidly expanding market. We are operating in a dramatic growth market. India’s motorcycle market achieved revenues exceeding $25.6 billion, with projections indicating growth to $36.1 billion by 2027. By 2030, it is expected that electric motorcycles will account for approximately 50% of the market share. A significant increase from the current 3% share of electric two-wheelers in India signifies a tremendous opportunity for growth.”
The PRANA 2.0 is an Engineering Marvel in Powertrain Safety and features remarkable performance, achieving a top speed of 123 km/h with an impressive range of 250 km. The bike is equipped with a battery pack consisting of high-energy long-life cells. It offers four driving modes, producing visibly different user ride experiences in terms of vehicle performance, torque, including a reverse mode for convenient parking assistance.
The company claimed that the ergonomic seating design and driving configuration ensure a comfortable and premium riding experience. Prana holds multiple granted patents and utilises the most efficient in-wheel motor featuring a detachable rim, enhancing serviceability and reducing costs. The integrated mobile application provides real-time tracking and diagnostic capabilities. Electric bikes establish a new benchmark in electric mobility, merging durability on the road with a smooth experience for users.

The company is working with innovative entities such as iVP Semiconductor to build necessary electronics with PRANA and subsequent products. These developmental steps are aimed at creating a complete eco-system, propelling the expansion of the EV adaptation and Indian innovation.
