Alhind Group To Start Indian Consular Services In UAE And Sri Lanka
The Alhind Group has been awarded the prestigious mandate to manage Consular, Passport, and Visa (CPV) services for Indian missions in both the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Sri Lanka. This milestone, achieved by Alhind Tours and Travels Private Limited, marks a major expansion in the group’s operational scope, positioning it as a primary facilitator for the Indian diaspora and international travellers in these key regions.
Headquartered in Kozhikode, Kerala, the Alhind Group is an internationally recognised conglomerate with a robust network of over 130 offices across India and overseas. This latest appointment is expected to drastically enhance the efficiency and accessibility of vital government services for millions of Indian nationals living abroad, including the significant Malayali community residing in the Gulf and neighbouring island nations.
The selection of Alhind followed a rigorous international tender process. In the UAE, the contract was jointly managed by the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai under Tender Number Abu/Cons/415/17/2025.
Alhind, according to a statement from the group, successfully navigated a field of approximately 15 global participants, emerging as the preferred partner in the final round. The official notification confirming the award was issued on 21 April 2026.
Simultaneously, the group demonstrated its competitive edge in Sri Lanka, where it was declared the L1 bidder for CPV services. This mandate, overseen by the High Commission of India in Colombo, extends to the Assistant High Commission in Kandy, as well as the Consulates General in Jaffna and Hambantota under RFP Number LKAC/Visa/2025-01.
Under the new agreements, Alhind Group will be responsible for a wide array of critical documentation and verification processes. The services to be provided at the newly established centres include passport and visa processing, alongside the management of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card services. The group will also handle applications for Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) and Surrender Certificates (SC). Furthermore, the mandate covers Global Entry Program (GEP) verification, Apostille and certificate attestation services, and various other essential consular tasks required by the Indian missions.
To meet the demands of these extensive mandates, Alhind has announced the establishment of a comprehensive network of service centres designed to ensure nationwide coverage in both countries. In the United Arab Emirates, Alhind will launch 16 service centres across all seven emirates. Strategic locations have been identified to ensure maximum proximity for residents, including Al Khalidiya/Al Danah, Al Reem, Mussafah, Al Ain, Gayathi, and Madinat Zayed in Abu Dhabi. Additional hubs will be located in Dubai, Furjan/Jebel Ali/DIP, Al Majaz, Rolla, Jurf, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, Khor Fakkan, Kalba, and Ras Al Khaimah. In Sri Lanka, the group will maintain a nationwide presence with primary service hubs located in Colombo, Kandy, Jaffna, Batticaloa, and Hambantota.
The Alhind Group brings over three decades of expertise to this new venture. In India, the company is already one of only four agencies authorised by the Ministry of External Affairs to run collection centres for attestation and apostille services, operating 17 such centres across the country. The group’s reputation is built on a track record of reliability, particularly during times of crisis. Notably, Alhind operated over a thousand charter flights during critical global periods, providing a lifeline for expatriates seeking to return home. This commitment to the diaspora, combined with competitive rates and the integration of advanced technology, remains the cornerstone of their service delivery model.
