A raft of business organisations in the country has announced a temporary halt for all online transactions and asked customers to keep cash handy until further notice.

Since the sudden Microsoft outage has been on continuous discussion so far, the crash around the world has brought cash payments back on track. This has been taken as a historic moment as people are forced to go back to their roots where we used ‘cash’ to make transactions. In India, some Airlines issued handwritten boarding passes to passengers on Friday.

In the US Film Forum movie theatres disclosed that they would go with cash-only payments. A raft of business organisations in the country has announced a temporary halt for all online transactions and asked customers to keep cash handy until further notice. Renowned restaurants including Starbucks have confronted delays due to the global IT outage that they posted on TikTok that orders are not taking forth until the system goes down as they use printed labels for cups.

The unexpected halt also affected Australia where the authorities have encouraged cashless payments in recent times. Many people around the globe have raised concerns about the legitimacy that online transactions hold. Some stated that it is best to keep ‘liquid money’ with you to not be a victim of such technological failures.

 

People stressed the importance of keeping cash always as an IT disaster may occur out of the blue. It was reported that many shops and cafes have had to close in the UK over the global IT outage as they cannot accept card payments. Some wrote that it is indispensable to keep cash in the economy and stop all shops and businesses should felicitating cash payments. 

It was on Friday that a slew of major global institutions including banks, airlines and media organisations confronted mass IT outages and it was reported that the US State of Alaska service was affected and even the London Stock Exchange was also reportedly impacted.

The supermarkets in Australia met with checkout turvydom and the flights were affected in the line. The graphics and computers failed to perform and the broadcast channels left seeking rescue for prompt help. The reason for the sudden outage is not clear but workers linked this to the Microsoft PC operating system’s error. Later, Microsoft responded to the chaos and acknowledged that the issues might be fixed soon and that it takes time to restore data and complete updates on the go.
