Corporate India Embraces Healthy And Sustainable Gifting

With the festive season of Diwali just around the corner, businesses across India are opening their wallets and indulging in a shopping spree. According to reports, corporate spending on gifts has significantly increased, and both brands and online platforms are witnessing a surge in corporate gifting orders.

This year”s corporate gifting trends are characterised by a strong emphasis on sustainability. Many companies are opting for sustainable gift hampers with plastic-free packaging, eco-friendly presents, utilitarian items, and healthier choices. There”s also a noticeable focus on customisation and personalisation to make the gifts more special.

Most players in the corporate gifting segment are optimistic about strong double-digit growth. Last year, had a positive sentiment around corporate festive gifting. This year, the trend continues with higher spending and a larger number of corporate gifting orders. In fact, some companies placed their bulk orders nearly two months in advance.

Corporate spending on gifts varies depending on the recipients. Business partners and clients receive gifts in the range of ₹5,000 to ₹8,000, while employees receive gifts in the range of ₹1,000 to ₹2,000. The preferred gift categories include gift hampers, kitchen products, and decorative pieces. Corporates aim to provide gifts that are utilitarian in nature. For instance, a pharmaceutical company ordering gifts emphasised that the gifts should be something their employees can use at home, not items to be recycled or passed on.

New trends in corporate gifting are emerging as well. Ferns N Petals (FNP) anticipates a significant increase in revenues from the corporate gifting business this Diwali season, with new-age companies favoring utilitarian gifts such as electronic gadgets, high-end personalised accessories, and wellness products. These gifts not only enhance employees” lives but also effectively promote brand recognition and goodwill.

In the food industry, packaged food companies are experiencing strong demand from corporates for their gift packs. There is a shift from traditional sweets to branded packaged food items for bulk orders. This transition is driven by a desire for quality and longer shelf life. It is expected that the gifting pack range will achieve an 8-10% growth compared to the previous year.

With these evolving trends, it”s clear that corporate gifting during Diwali is not only about spreading joy but also making environmentally conscious and thoughtful choices that add value to employees” lives while promoting brand image and strengthening corporate relationships.
