M S Dhoni is to be featured as the brand ambassador for Jio Mart. Reliance retail Jio Mart has announced that the former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni would be the retail chain”s brand ambassador. The Reliance e-commerce retail platform would be opening its festive shopping celebration called “JioUtsav, Celebrations of India” on October 8, 2023.

The Jio Mart now features M S Dhoni in their website giving a warm welcome to the online Jio Mart customers. On his new role, Dhoni said that he identifies very strongly and echoes the values that the e-commerce platform stands for. He said, “…being a homegrown e-commerce brand, they are driven by a purpose to support the digital retail revolution in India,” and that, “India is known for its vibrant culture, people and festivals, JioMart”s JioUtsav campaign is an ode to the celebration of India and its people. I am very excited to come on-board with JioMart and be a part of the shopping journey of millions of Indians,” reported the HT.

A press release by Reliance retail said, “the JioUtsav campaign emphasizes the inference that Dhoni has given the nation several occasions to celebrate but has missed being a part of them. So, with renewed vigor, he is determined to celebrate all moments of happiness, festivities and special occasions with his loved ones.”

Jio Mart CEO Sandeep Varaganti, said that the retail giant had a “perfect fit” in M S Dhoni as its brand ambassador as the cricketer’s personality represented trust, reliability and assurance “just like JioMart.” He further said that the shopping campaign lends itself to celebration of life and special moments with loved ones and that, of the overall sales, 60 percent account from non-metro regions which is a signal of gradual growth and of the e-commerce retail’s efforts at democratising digital retail.

In the release, it said the focus has always been at promoting regional artisans, with the platform presently working with 1000 artisans and selling 1.5 lakh products which are unique. The brand will also have Dhoni in a promotional film which would play for 45 seconds. During the shoot for the film, Mr. Varaganti also presented a Madhubani painting made by Ambika Devi, an award-winning artisan from Bihar to Dhoni, said the HT.

Jio Mart”s JioUtsav and the Amazon”s great Indian festival, both, have begun their mega shopping festival on October 8, 2023.
