FLY91 Gets Aviation License, To Start With Bengaluru-Goa

New Delhi: A new regional airline, FLY91, is set to take flight this week, aiming to enhance connectivity between smaller cities and popular destinations within India, including Lakshadweep. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) granted the airline its air operator permit (AOP) on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone for the aviation led by industry-veteran Manoj Chacko.

“The wait is finally over!” exclaimed FLY91 in a statement, expressing their gratitude to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and DGCA for their support. This achievement comes after four years of dedication and hard work by the FLY91 team.

“The wait is finally over! Four years of hard work and dedication by FLY91 team has paid off. We are proud to have received air operating certificate from DGCA India. We thank Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Directorate General of Civil Aviation for believing in our vision and supporting us through this journey,” an official statement said.

FLY91″s initial fleet comprises two ATR-72 aircraft, with plans to add four more by September. Their long-term vision involves further expansion, aiming to incorporate six additional turboprops annually over the next five years. The company, according to reports, asserted its commitment to connecting tier 2 and tier 3 towns across India, making air travel more accessible for a wider population.

While details regarding Lakshadweep connectivity are still emerging, FLY91 has confirmed its initial route connecting Bengaluru and Goa.
