India Was Buying Oil From Russia, But Pulled Back On My Request: Trump Claims On India Deal
Washington DC, United States: US president Donald Trump has once again claimed that India pulled back from buying Russian oil on his request as part of the US-India trade deal, which is widely slammed by the opposition as a surrender of India’s sovereignty to the US.
While speaking to the reporters, the US president said “India was getting its oil from Russia, and they pulled way back on my request, adding that he also stopped the war between India and Pakistan. The president was responding to a question on how the US Supreme Court’s tariffs ruling would impact ties and trade with India.
Notably, with the US supreme court striking down Trump’s global tariffs, the Congress party launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led central government, alleging that the government rushed into a “one-sided, anti-India trade deal” with the US.
