Following A Court Order, US President Trump Pays More Than $5.62M As Compensation For Sexually Abusing Writer
Washington DC, United States: US President Donald Trump has paid writer E Jean Carroll more than $5m (around Rs 54 crore) in damages three years after a court found him liable for sexually abusing and defaming the columnist in a civil case.
Roberta Kaplan, a lawyer for Carroll, said that the writer has received the damages payment the jury awarded her as a result of that verdict on Tuesday. Carroll’ legal team has also confirmed that she had been paid more than $5.62m – the $5m awarded in damages plus the interest accrued during the appeal.
