Trump Says 'Strongly Considering Pulling US Out Of NATO' Over Its Failure To Join Iran War
Washington DC, United States: US president Donald Trump on Wednesday told reporters that he is ‘strongly considering pulling the United States out of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) after it failed to join his war on Iran. Trump has been demanding European countries join the war on Iran by sending their navy to the Strait of Hormuz and allowing the US to use their bases for military operations against the Islamic Republic.
Notably, several European countries have rejected the US’s request to use their bases for operations against Iran, after Tehran warned of potential consequences. The US president, labeling the alliance as the “paper tiger”, said removing America from the defense treaty was now beyond reconsideration.

Regarding the question of US’s plan for NATO, Trump said he was never swayed by NATO. “I always knew they were a paper tiger, and Putin knows that too, by the way,” Trump has repeatedly slammed the NATO allies over their lack of support for the war and refusing to send troops to the Strait of Hormuz to reopen it.
“We’ve been there automatically, including Ukraine. Ukraine wasn’t our problem. It was a test, and we were there for them, and we would always have been there for them. They weren’t there for us,” the president said.

He indicated that the US will reexamine the value of NATO after the conflict concludes.
