Indian Brand Holds Sway at Top of World's Best Whisky List

An Indian single malt whisky, Indri, manufactured by Piccadilly Distilleries, has been featured in the list of World”s Top Whiskies at the 2023 Whiskies of the World Awards. Indri Diwali Collector”s Edition 2023 was awarded the “Best in Show, Double Gold” by over 100 judges at one of the biggest booze competitions.

The panel of judges, composed of the alcoholic beverage industry”s most influential people, selected the best whiskies in each category, and the winner of each category competed for the Best in Show title. However, Indri Diwali Collector”s Edition 2023 surpassed numerous coveted brands, such as Scotch whiskies, Bourbons, Canadian whiskies, and Australian and British single malts, with its swirling booze and exotic tastes to achieve the top spot.

A Piccadilly spokesperson claimed that India has earned a well-deserved position among the top contenders with its distinctive taste and quality. Indian single malts are finally getting the prominence on the global stage, where Scotch whisky dominated for years.

Piccadilly Distilleries founder Siddartha Sharma hailed the gains, saying that Indians are pushing the limits on every front, including technology, sports, and business, and that Indian premium brands are making a difference.

According to him, with their exquisite quality, Indians are reclaiming their magic, referring to feats like Chandrayaan and Neeraj Chopra”s world record triumph.

Indri whisky is a product of Piccadilly Distilleries, located in Haryana. Indri Whisky was introduced to the Indian market in 2021 with the introduction of Indri-Trini, India”s first triple-barrel single malt. Indri Whisky is a peated single malt whisky, having a smoky flavor.

Currently, Indri-Trini is available in 19 Indian states and 17 other countries. The world”s No. 1 whisky will be available in the US and some European countries from November 2023.
