Business magnate Anand Mahindra hailed Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma as a “scintillating conversationalist” following a productive meeting in Mumbai. The meeting, which took place on a Sunday, was described by Mahindra as both a privilege and a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
In a statement, Mahindra emphasised the importance of integrating the Northeast into India’s economic mainstream, noting its potential to significantly enhance the nation’s economy and security. “I normally don’t allocate Sundays for work, but this meeting was a privilege. The HCM Himanta Biswa is a scintillating conversationalist!” he said, reflecting on the engaging discussions.
The meeting was part of the Assam government’s efforts to attract investments to the state. The Assam Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) highlighted the occasion, stating, “HCM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Mr Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, and invited him to the upcoming #AdvantageAssam2.0 summit. They had an extensive discussion on various investment opportunities in Assam.”
Expressing his admiration for Mahindra’s vision, Chief Minister Sarma tweeted, “It was such a delight to meet Shri Anand Mahindra. His passion for an industrialised India and intellectual prowess is admirable. I have invited him to partner with the Assam Government in our quest for industrial growth.”
