Wipro Partially Scraps Work-from-Home Policy, Following TCS and Infosys

Following Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys, another IT major, Wipro, has made it compulsory for employees to work from the office for at least three days a week. The new rule will take effect from November 15, 2023.

“We have decided to implement a compulsory hybrid work policy, requiring a minimum of three days in the office,” stated a senior Wipro executive in a shared email to all employees.

The move is intended to enhance communication, team building, collaboration, innovation, and creativity among the workforce.

“It is crucial for you to know that starting January 7, 2024, consistent failure to adhere to the hybrid work policy may have consequences,” the shared email read.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was the first IT major to mandate its employees to work from the office, completely scrapping its work-from-home policy and instructing employees to report to the office for five days a week starting from October 1, 2023. Infosys followed TCS, making it mandatory for employees to work from the office for at least ten days a month.
