Azim Premji Scholarship For Girls After Class 12 To Be Announced In September

Azim Premji Foundation has announced the Azim Premji Scholarship to support girl students from advantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education after class 12th. The scholarship is part of the Foundation’s commitment to improve the quality and equity of education in India.

Under the scholarship, girls students will receive financial support of Rs 30,000 per year for the entire duration of the undergraduate diploma/degree programme to cover tuition fees or any expenses incurred towards completing their education.

For example, a girl pursuing the 4-year B Sc nursing program, will get Rs 1,20,000 scholarship support in those 4 years. The money will be transferred in two instalments to the girls’ bank account directly every year. She may use the money as is needed.

The applications from eligible candidates will start from July 2025. The last date of application submission is likely to be within one month of the announcement of the scholarship.

The upcoming cycle will cover up to 2,50,000 eligible girl students from across 18 states.

The Azim Premji Scholarship was pilot launched in the 2024-25 academic year in Madhya Pradesh, and certain districts of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Jharkhand. Over 25,000 girls have been given the scholarship in this pilot cycle.

The money of the first year of the scholarship has been transferred to the accounts of these girls. In the year 2025 highest number of girls students, which is over 18,000, from Madhya Pradesh received financial assistance under the said scholarship scheme.

Azim Premji Scholarship: Eligibility

  • Girls who have done their class 10 and 12 schooling in government (public) schools.
  • Have admission in a bona-fide higher education institution (HEI) – in a degree or diploma program. List of ‘Bona-fide’ HEIs will include all government (public) HEIs and select private HEIs as well.
