CBSE Faces Massive Cyberattacks In Its Re-Evaluation Portal, Claims 1.5 Million Hits In Two Minutes
New Delhi: Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has said that its re-evaluation portal continues to face multiple cyberattack attempts, adding that it is functioning smoothly. The board’s cybersecurity teams highlight that the portal is currently supporting more than 8,000 concurrent users.
Over 16,000 students had successfully completed and submitted their re-evaluation applications as of June 2.
In a social media post, the national education body said that malicious actors attempted to disrupt services through a barrage of cyberattacks while thousands of students accessed the CBSE re-evaluation today.
Most recent being a denial of service attack attempt causing 1.5 million hits on the portal within a matter of 2 minutes and more than 1 lakh attempts of unauthorised file access,” the CBSE stated.
CBSE’s technical teams were able to maintain portal operations despite the cyberattacks. The board said it has ensured that students could continue using the service without major disruption.
