Centre Releases NIRF Rankings 2025: Here Are The Top Universities, Colleges
New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Education on Thursday, released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, which ranks the top-performing universities, colleges, and institutes in India every year.
The ranking covers nine categories, Overall, Universities, Colleges, Research Institutions, Innovation, State Public Universities, Open Universities, Skill Universities, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), among others.

The Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, released the list, with Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, ranked as India’s top engineering university, followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Hindu College retained its top spot as the best engineering college, with Miranda House securing second place and Hansraj College ranking third.
