Centres With Mass Copying In Boards Will Be Debarred, Says Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis warns examination centers with mass copying for class 10 and 12 board exams to get barred permanently. The statement came after the reports of forty-two cases of copying came on the first day of the HSC examination for class 12, according to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE).

The Maharashtra CM asked officials to implement drones and video cameras to monitor the sensitive examination centers and was directed to sack school employees or teachers if found guilty.

Fadnavis reportedly interacted with all district collectors and police officials and took information about the preparation for exams. The chief minister is directed to form special squads to reach examination centres an hour before the exam starts and wait until the answer sheets are submitted to the custodian. Also, any unauthorized person should not be allowed 100 meters from the examination centers, CM instructed.

The CM also said that any student should not carry any material that can lead to copying in exams. The flying squad must ensure to take effective steps for a copy-free examination, Fadnavis said.

The preparation will be the joint responsibility of the district collector, superintendent of police, and chief executive officer of the Zila parishad to prevent copying in exams.

The class 12 board exams were held at 3,373 centres in the state. More than 15 lakh students appeared for the first paper, English. The exams will continue till March 18.
