Class 10th English Paper Leaked In Haryana, Exam Cancelled At Multiple Centres

In a post shared on X, Congress shared information about the paper leak of English examination of Haryana Class 10. The examination had to cancel at multiple exam centres, the post says.

Chandigarh-based The Tribune has reported yesterday that HBSE or Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE), the state-run school education and examination conducting body, cancelled the English paper of Class 10 at a centre after the paper was leaked at Chatehra village of Gohana subdivision. Day before that, the daily has also said the Hindi paper of Class 12 was leaked at Bhawar village of Gohana area.

The news of paper leak and cancellation of examination is not new in case of Haryana. Yesterday, also a video of Chandrawati School in Nuh, Haryana, surfaced online showing scores of youths climbing up and down the walls to throw chits through ventilation shafts into classrooms and corridors while the class X Physical Education examination was going on in the school.

As per the observers, the chit-bearers climbed up with ropes tied to their waist to scale up the school walls. Along with this, the question paper was also circulated on the messenger app while the exam was being conducted.

Earlier, the Hindi and Urdu question papers had already been circulated in Sonipat and Nuh in Haryana. An FIR was registered against the accused and an investigation was started.

Reportedly, the flying squad had caught over 50 cases of cheating across the state including 17 from Nuh.

Haryana Board exams for classes 10th and 12th were started on Feb 27 at nearly 1500 centers. The Haryana Board has identified 48 centers as sensitive and 17 as highly sensitive centers across the state.

These incidents of paper leaks and cheating have become very common in different states. Recently, the Mathematics and Biology Question Papers of the Uttar Pradesh Board Class 12 exam, conducted in the second shift, were allegedly shared on a WhatsApp group nearly an hour after the examination began.

As per the information, in the recent past, the leak of question papers of board exams and recruitment examinations has become a common trend. The UP Police Constable Exam was also canceled over the paper leak information.

Notably, Union Minister Jitendra Singh introduced ‘The Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill, 2024’ to prevent the use of unfair means in public examination. When passed the bill will help in curbing leaks and cheating in recruitment examinations and entrance tests such as UPSC, SSC, NEET, JEE, and CUET. The bill aims to bring transparency, fairness, and credibility to the government examination system. It promotes the genuine efforts of youths by rewarding and protecting the entrance procedure for higher studies or employment.
