Muslim Girls Denied Permission To Give UP Board Exam Wearing Niqab; Left Exam
A case of 4 Muslim girls leaving the class 10th UP board exam has come up in Janupur, UP where the girls were not allowed to sit in the exam wearing ‘Niqab’. The school teachers asked them to remove their burqa and niqab but the girls refused to remove and did not agree to sit in exam without wearing veils.
The incident took place in the Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Khadoli, Jaunpur, UP. As per the reports, the admit card verification was already done through the facial recognition to enter the examination centre.
The girls reported that they were ready to cooperate for verification and checking while the school management did not permit them to wear ‘burqa’ during the exam. The parents also requested the management to allow girls wearing niqab after the proper checking. However, upon being denied permission, the four girls returned home without appearing for the exam.
The school management said that some girls are already appearing for the exam after removing their niqab and school wanted to follow the due procedure.
