Dalit Student Killed In Rajasthan Library For Refusing Holi Colors

A Dalit student was brutally killed in Lalsot, Dausa district of Rajasthan, for refusing to apply colors on Holi. The 25-year-old Hansraj Meena was strangled to death by three men – Ashok, Bablu, and Kaluram – after he refused to let them apply Holi colors on him.

A video has gone viral on social media where the deceased Hansraj Meena can be seen studying in the library and coming out where the scuffle broke out after he refused to put on colors. The three men barged inside the library and started kicking Meena, beating him with belts and strangling him.

The incident has led to public outrage and protests demanding justice, compensation for the family, and the arrest of the accused.  Users on social media claim it’s a law and order failure under CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, but the motive awaits official confirmation.

Following Hansraj’s death, his enraged family took his body from Lalsot District Hospital and staged a protest on National Highway 148 near the library. Reportedly, the highway remained blocked for 8 hours, causing traffic disruptions. Later, around 1:30 am, the family put their demands, and police assured them of appropriate action.

As per the reports, the incident highlights a disturbing trend of violence in the region—Lalsot has seen serious crimes before, in 2024 rape case of a 4-year-old by a police sub-inspector, sparked massive protests.
