Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) conducted its 12th convocation ceremony on Friday. The triumphant event celebrated the academic achievements of 715 brilliant graduates who completed their undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in flying colours.
During the ceremony, 452 B.Tech. students specialising in various fields, including Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, Computer Science and Design, Computer Science and Social Sciences, Computer Science and Biosciences, and Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, were honoured. Besides, 237 M.Tech. students, including 4 dual-degree holders in Computer Science and Engineering, Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, and Computational Biology, along with 26 Ph.D. recipients in Computational Biology, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Human-Centered Design, Mathematics, and Social Sciences and Humanities, were recognised for their exceptional academic achievements.
This year marking a significant shift in traditional ceremony, the institute introduced a fresh and culturally resonant, new convocation attire instead the conventional colonial robe and hat. The change not only symbolised the institute”s commitment to embracing its cultural heritage but also highlighted the significance of tradition and identity in academic milestones.
The ceremony was graced by the Chancellor, Hon’ble LG, Vinai Kumar Saxena. Prof. Ranjan Bose, Director IIIT-Delhi, and Kiran Karnik, Chairman Board of Governors were also present on the occasion. The Institute also celebrated the students” excellence in academic performance by conferring them with Chancellor”s Gold Medal, Institute Silver Medals, All Round Performance Medals, Best BTP Awards, Gold Medal for Excellent Academic Performance in M.Tech., Best M.Tech Thesis Award, and Ph.D. Dissertation Awardees.
