IIM Calcutta's 59th MBA Batch Secures 100 Per Cent Placement

The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) students of 59th batch of the flagship 2-year MBA batch secured 100 percent placements obtaining 529 offers from 194 companies, the institute claimed.

Top Recruiters

Out of the total 464 students, around 31 per cent students secured recruitments in the consulting sector which emerged as the top recruiter yet again with 167 intakes. Among the consulting firms Accenture Strategy, EY-Parthenon, Monitor Deloitte, KPMG, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Vector Consulting and Arthur D. Little, McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Kearney are the key industries. Notably, For the 58th batch of the flagship 2-year MBA program IIM-C secured 573 offers for 465 students with consulting firms at the top recruiters (232 offers).

Marketing and General Management sector together like ITC, Loreal, Proctor & Gamble, Dabur, Tata Administrative Services, Vedanta, Adani, Hinduja, Aditya Birla Group, Essar Group, JSW and Reliance witnessed the second highest recruitments with 130 students (24.6 per cent).

The next high placements with a total of 114 students was observed in Marquee Financial Sectors in Private Equity Firms, Venture capital, Investment Banking, Markets, Asset and Wealth Management. The top recruiters from financial sector includes Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Chase, Bank of America, Citibank, Barclays, HSBC, BNP Paribas, Arga, Avendus, Neo Asset & Wealth Management, Kotak Alternate Assets, Kotak Mahindra Capital, Ambit, Incred, Prime Ventures, Orios VP, Premji Invest, Elevation Capital, O3 Capital, Gaja Capital and Innoven Capital among others. Last year the finance secured the highest recruitment with 86 offers.

With around 88 students receiving offers from technology sector participation of firms like Microsoft Navi, Arcesium, Media.Net, Uber, Angel One, HCL, Newgen, Zomato, Javis, and NPCI offered placements to around 16.6 percent of students.

New Category of Recruiters

Another new category of offer of ‘Founder’s office’ was observed this year. This included offers from OLA, IndusInd Bank, Newme, ParkStreet, PoshN, Kofluence among others.

This year observed the first-time recruiters from both the domestic and international markets like Jio Financial Services, Hero Fincorp, Yubi, Sobha Realty, Sirius AI, Husk Power Systems and DMI Finance.

Mentioning that IIM, Lucknow also informed about the final placements for the Batches of PGP 38 and ABM 19 with 100 percent recruitments resulting in 634 offers for 576 candidates.
