August 12, 2024: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has once again claimed the top spot as the best management institute in India, securing this position for the fifth consecutive year in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2024. The rankings were released today by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIMA, expressed the institute’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards in management education and research. He noted that the recognition as the best management institute by NIRF for the fifth year in a row underscores the exceptional education and pioneering research conducted by IIMA’s faculty. He also emphasized that while the institute takes pride in this achievement, it remains driven to consistently pursue excellence in all its endeavors and contribute significantly to India’s growth narrative.

The NIRF rankings evaluate higher education institutions across the country based on several parameters, including Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practices, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception. Since the inception of the NIRF rankings in 2016, IIMA has consistently placed at the top, holding the first position in 2017, 2018, and from 2020 onwards.

Founded in 1961 as a collaborative initiative between the government, industry, and international academia, IIMA has established itself as a premier global management institute. Over its six decades of existence, the institute has been acknowledged for its significant contributions to scholarship, practice, and policy. In addition to its top ranking in the NIRF India Rankings 2024, IIMA has been ranked 43rd globally in the Financial Times (FT) Executive Education Rankings 2024. The institute’s flagship two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) was ranked 43rd in the FT Masters in Management Ranking 2023, and its one-year Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX) was ranked 41st in the FT Global MBA Rankings 2024.
