AMU Gets 8th Place In The NIRF Ranking 2024

Aligarh, August 12, 2024: The Aligarh Muslim University has made a remarkable jump to the 8th rank this year from the ninth place in 2023, in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking released by the Ministry of Education, Government of India today.

The AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Naima Khatoon expressed happiness and joy at the University’s improved ranking in the most prestigious ranking survey conducted by the Government of India.

She congratulated the faculty members, students, staff and alumni of the university on the achievement. She said it is the result of relentless efforts and hard work of all segments of the university fraternity that helped the university achieve an upward move among the best universities in the country.

Prof Khatoon stressed that the quality of research conducted at the university, innovation and the quality of education relative to various courses are the main attributes that help an institution gain a better ranking in a ranking survey. She urged the faculty members, researchers and students to work harder to take the university to a higher place in the NIRF rankings in the coming years.

Prof M Salim Beg, Chairman, Committee for Ranking of the University, said that AMU has got improved results despite the stiffer competition this year. In 2024, the total number of institutions participating in the ranking rose to 10845, which is a considerable increase as compared to only 8686 in the year 2023.
