The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has received a Rs 1 crore contribution to its endowment fund from Amarjit Bakshi, an alumnus from the 1967 batch and the founder of the Bakshi Group of Enterprises. This donation is part of a pledge initiated in 2017 to support the institute’s growth and development.
In a statement, the Group shared that the donation aims to strengthen IIT Delhi’s research, expand educational opportunities, and prepare future leaders.
Bakshi reflected on his association with the institute, saying, “IIT Delhi has been the foundation of my professional journey, and I am honoured to contribute to its growth. This endowment is focused on enhancing the institute’s ability to deliver quality education, support innovative research, and nurture future leaders. My vision is for the institute to provide transformative solutions for society and equip future generations with exceptional learning opportunities.”

Professor Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi, expressed gratitude for Bakshi’s ongoing support. He said, “Mr. Amarjit Bakshi’s dedication to the Endowment Fund highlights the strong connection he shares with IIT Delhi. His contributions are strengthening the institute’s academic and research capabilities and inspiring other alumni to contribute.”
This programme will enable senior students to conduct sessions on subjects they excel in, sharing knowledge with junior students.
The initiative aims to foster mentorship, collaborative learning, and leadership skills among students, aligning with Bakshi’s vision of nurturing well-rounded individuals who contribute positively to society.
