IIT Delhi UG Students Bag Record 850 Offers, Including 40+ International Placements
Undergraduate students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi have achieved an impressive milestone, securing around 850 unique job offers so far during the current placement season—surpassing the figures from the past three years. The institute had recorded 712 offers in 2022, followed by 768 in 2023, and 781 in 2024.
The placement season is still underway, and the number of offers is expected to rise further. This year, several top-tier recruiters have made double-digit offers to UG students, including American Express, Barclays, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), BlueStone Jewellery, Deutsche India, Google, Graviton Research Capital, Meesho, Microsoft, Oracle, PayU, Squarepoint Capital, and Texas Instruments.
Notably, public sector undertakings (PSUs) have also shown strong interest, with companies like Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Petronet LNG Ltd., Indian Oil Corporation, and the Centre for Development of Telematics hiring from the UG cohort.
Adding a global dimension to the achievements, over 40 international offers have been extended to IIT Delhi students. These offers came from renowned organisations based in Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Taiwan, the UAE, the UK, and the USA.
An exit survey conducted by the institute for the 2024 batch indicated that around 30% of graduates chose unconventional career paths: 7% ventured into entrepreneurship or start-ups, 6% pursued higher education, and 17% appeared for competitive examinations. A similar trend is anticipated among the 2025 graduating class.
