The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has issued a notice declaring school holidays for all classes up to higher secondary levels of the Jammu division. The school will remain closed from October 29 to November 2, 2024, because of Diwali festivals. The schools will reopen on November 4, 2024, following the Pooja break.
Students and parents can visit the official site of the Directorate of School Education Jammu at – schedujammu.nic.in and navigate to the orders and circulars section.
The official notification issued by the DSEJ read, “It is hereby ordered that all the Educational institutions Government/Private up to Higher Secondary levels (Summer/Winter Zones) of Jammu Division shall observe Five (5) days Pooja Holidays w.e.f 29-10-2024 to 02-11-2024”.

Also, schools in Tamil Nadu have announced the closure of educational institutes including schools, colleges, and government offices in the state on November 1, 2024. States including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh have announced holidays in observance of Diwali festivals.
