JEE Main 2025: NTA Releases FAQs Related To Students Queries

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published a comprehensive FAQ for the students to address their common exam and application form-related queries for the JEE Main 2025 exam.

The online application process for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 session 1 is underway and closing on November 22, 2024. Also, NTA has updated on topics such as session-wise exam dates, guidelines to select exam cities, admit card-related matters, and others.

The examination centre city will be announced the first week ahead of January 2025 and the admit cards will also be available to download from the NTA website three days before the actual date of the examination.

The exam is scheduled to be conducted from January 22 to 31, 2025 and the result will be released on February 12, 2025.

For academic Session 2025-26, the JEE Main – 2025 will be conducted in two sessions – Session 1 (January 2025) and Session 2 (April 2025).

How to register for JEE (Main)? Detailed instructions for online registration are in the Information Bulletin on the NTA website under “Important Information at Glance.”
How are exam cities chosen? Candidates can select four cities based on their permanent and current address. Foreign candidates can choose centers nearby or within India. Final allotment is at NTA’s discretion.
Is Aadhaar authentication mandatory? No, it’s optional, but candidates should update their Aadhaar details for ID verification at exam centers.
What documents do PwBD/PwD candidates need? They must follow RPwD Act, 2016, and relevant government guidelines. Refer to NTA notices for details.
How to avail of a scribe facility? Read Chapter 4 of the Information Bulletin and fill out forms as per Appendix IV and VI. Details like roll number and center name are to be completed at the exam center.
What languages are available for the exam? The exam is conducted in English, Hindi, and regional languages like Assamese, Tamil, Telugu, and others listed in the NEP.
Is a category certificate required during registration? No need to upload the certificate. Just provide the certificate number, issue date, and authority details. Submit the certificate during document verification.
When will the exam be conducted? Session 1: January 22-31, 2025. Session 2: April 1-8, 2025.
Should candidates send documents to NTA? No. Candidates must not send documents via post, email, or by hand.
Can candidates apply for Session 2 if they missed Session 1? Yes, they can apply when the portal opens for Session 2.
Can NTA manually allot exam centers? No.
What if the exam date clashes with another exam? NTA will not change the exam date in case of clashes.
Can candidates choose the exam date or slot? No, the date and slot are computer-allocated randomly.
Is it okay to upload a blue signature instead of black? Yes, it’s acceptable.
Can application details be corrected later? A one-time correction window is provided for selected fields.
Can the application be canceled? No, once submitted, it cannot be canceled or withdrawn.

Can the exam center be changed after allocation? No.
