The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) 2025. Candidates willing to appear for the engineering entrance exam can visit the NTA’s official website for registration. The last date of the registration is November 22, 2024 (11:59 pm).
The examination city will be announced by the first week of January 2025 and the admit cards will also be available to download from the NTA website three days before the actual date of the examination.
The exam is scheduled to be held from January 22 to 31, 2025 and the result will be released on February 12, 2025.
For academic Session 2025-26, the JEE Main – 2025 will be conducted in two sessions – Session 1 (January 2025) and Session 2 (April 2025).

Difference Between JEE Mains And JEE Advanced
JEE Main comprises two papers. Paper 1 (BE/BTech) is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programs (BE/BTech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Institutes (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating state governments. It is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 of JEE (Main) is conducted for admission to BArch and BPlanning courses in the country.
Whereas JEE Advanced is a gateway for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
JEE Main 2025 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) while JEE Advanced 2025 will be conducted by IIT Kanpur.
For JEE Main a candidate must have cleared class 12 with at least 75% marks or 65% for SC/ST students. Applicants who rank in the top 20 percentile of their respective board exams are also eligible. Those who completed their board exams in the last 2 years are eligible to apply.
Whereas, candidates who are among the 2.5 lakh scorers in JEE Main are eligible for the JEE Advance exam. Also, they should have cleared class 12 exams within the last 2 years.

For the JEE Main exam, applicants are allowed to sit as many times as they wish. The exam is conducted twice a year. Candidates who want to appear for JEE Advanced can apply for a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
The JEE Main Exam contain two papers. Paper 1 is conducted in online mode via computer based test (CBT), while Paper 2 is held in offline, pen-and-paper mode.
JEE Advanced consists of two compulsory papers and applicants must appear for both papers. For those who are interested in B.Arch program need to pass both these papers and then need to qualify the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) for admission into architecture programs at IITs.
