
JNU Suspends MoU With Turkish University Amid Boycott Turkey Campaign
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has suspended an MoU between JNU and Inonu University, Turkey, due to National Security considerations. Vice Chancellor, Prof Santishree D Pandit, announced to withhold ties with the Turkish university until further notice.
JNU joins the national security calls to boycott Turkish products in India, aligning with India’s security priorities. Indians are leading a campaign against Turkey for its support, involving the drone supply to Pakistan. As people call for refraining from travel to Turkey, there are reports that several travel companies have suspended bookings to the Muslim-majority country.
Due to National Security considerations, the MoU between JNU and Inonu University, Türkiye stands suspended until further notice.
