The Meghalaya government has urged the National Testing Agency (NTA) to delay the CUET UG 2025 exam, citing a delay in centre allocation. Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma has requested NTA to postpone the examination to be held from May 13, 2025 citing lack of preparedness to hold the Computer Based Test (CBT) in the state centres.

According to Minister Sangma, “NTA did not communicate to the state government, as the agency communicates only one or two days before the exam”. However, NTA team had visited the examination centres to check the preparedness of the exam.

Reportedly, the state government identified over 200 additional computer nodes to support the exam, however, an inspection was required to verify their readiness, highlighting a delay in communication and preparation between NTA and the state government.

However, the CUET UG exam was held in CBT format and will continue until June 3, 2025.
