NEET PG Counselling 2025: MCC Extends Round-1 Choice Filling With No Deadline; Creates Anxiety Among Aspirants
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the NEET PG choice-filling facility for Round-1 until further orders. Candidates are advised to check the official MCC website regularly. The recent update has created anxiety among candidates, as the NEET PG exam and counselling were already delayed, which is expected to put pressure on resident doctors after they join courses for the upcoming academic session.
Notably, NEET PG 2025 counselling faced delays due to Supreme Court petitions on exam transparency, pending NMC approvals for new medical seats, and procedural hurdles. The schedule was released on Oct 28, with Round 1 registration extended now until further notice from MCC.

One user shared the matter of mental stress among aspirants due to the delayed counselling process. “NEET PG 2025 aspirants are facing huge mental stress due to repeated delays and unclear schedules. MCC must release a fixed and transparent counselling timeline — “until further orders” only creates more anxiety. Thousands of young doctors deserve clarity to plan their future. We urge authorities to announce confirmed dates immediately”, the user wrote.

Another aspirant questioned the MCC process while comparing it with AIIMS, “Further delays in NEET PG 2025 counselling. Every year, months are wasted even before round 1 begins. Other rounds are pushed to the next year. If AIIMS can conduct two exams and counsellings in a year, why can’t NMC and MCC conduct one in a year?”, he wrote.
