The Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) is likely to be held in computer-based test (CBT), as per the TOI report. According to the education minister, a consensus has already been built with the Ministry of Health, the National Testing Agency (NTA), and a third-party monitoring group led by former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chief K Radhakrishnan.
The Radhakrishnan committee was established after the NEET paper leak allegations which has proposed the transformative recommendations. The group was tasked with advising and monitoring NTA to ensure a robust and transparent examination process.

The committee recommended adopting online testing to avoid the security risks associated with paper-based exams. It also suggested a hybrid model with question papers will digitally transmit to the examination centres and responses will be recorded on paper. This will help in the reduction of physical handling of papers, and eliminate vulnerability at the printing, storage, and transportation stages.
Mr Pradhan said that the implementation of the committee report has started already and a monitoring group has been set up to advise and monitor NTA that will work as a third-party vigil. The health ministry has also been consulted on this, he said. Based on the consultation and deliberation with the committee, NTA, and ministry, Pradhan said, “We are all likely moving towards CBT”.
