A total of 22 universities in India have secured top spots under the World University Ranking by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). A total of 984 universities found their place in Asia and 6 universities secured places under the top 100 positions. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi clinched the top spot with the 44th position.
This year’s QS Asia University Rankings viewed in sub-regions: Central Asia (including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan), Eastern Asia (includes mainland China, Japan and South Korea), South-Eastern Asia (including, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand), and Southern Asia (including India and Pakistan).
Peking University China, University of Hong Kong, and National University of Singapore grabbed the top three positions under the QS World University Ranking Asia 2025.

In Pakistan, a total of 70 Pakistani universities secured their place in the Asia region of the QS World University Rankings out of 784 universities and 2 under the top 100 universities in Asia.
The top 6 Indian universities that were placed under the top 100 of the QS World University Rankings Asia 2025 include:
- Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD) – Rank 44th
- Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB) – Rank 48th
- Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM) – Rank 56th
- Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-KGP) – Rank 60th
- Indian Institute of Science – Rank 62
- Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) – Rank 67
IIT Delhi has secured the top spot among the 308 universities in the Southern Asian region and a total of 7 universities are featured under the top 10 universities. Also the BITS Pilani has performed impressive in the QS Asia ranking by juming to 171th rank from 215 earlier and 28th in the Southern Asia rankings.
National University of Science & Technology (NUST), Islamabad shared 6th rank in the South Asian category with IIT Kanpur. Notably, Kazakhastan set a new record in higher education with 35 universities featured in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025.
