Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has invited expressions of interest from educational institutions to serve as Nodal Centers to host Space Science and Technology Awareness Training (START) – 2024 by April 2, 2024. Interested institutions should offer UG/PG courses in physical science and technology. As per the ISRO, the main objective of the program is to attract youngsters to the field of space science and technology.
START aims to encourage greater participation from academics, generate human resources in space science and technology, expand the user base of the space exploration mission data, and foster an ecosystem to facilitate students’ active participation in space sciences. The online training program was started by the Science Programme Office, ISRO HQ with the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), ISRO, Dehradun in 2023.
Once the student registration opens, students of these nodal centers can also participate in the online application process for START – 2024. The student registration window is expected to be opened on April 8 till April 12.
