Telangana To Appoint Over 11 Thousand Teachers By Dasara, Says CM Reddy

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy released the District Selection Committee (DSC) 2024 result on Monday and unveiled the General Rank List at the State Secretariat. The Telangana CM also announced the issuing of appointment orders for new teachers before Dasara.

Nearly 2.45 lakh candidates took the DSC exam, held in July-August, to fill the 11,062 teaching vacancies. He confirmed that the certificate verification process for all selected candidates will be done and the issuing of appointment orders will take place on October 9 during a ceremony at LB Stadium in Hyderabad.

As per the official information, 87.61 percent of the total applicants appeared in the test held between July 18 and August 15, 2024. Nearly 88,000 candidates appeared for a total of 6,508 secondary-grade teacher posts.

The exam was held for 2,629 school assistants, 727 language pundits, 182 physical education teachers, 220 school assistants (special educators), and 796 secondary grade teachers (special educators).

CM Revanth Reddy said that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government issued DSC notification only once in ten years and appointed only 7,857 teachers. The previous government had no intention to make education accessible, he said.

While the Congress government conducted the exam to appoint 11,062 teachers within 65 days and has given appointment letters to 30,000 employees within 30 days of coming to power, CM Reddy said.

The Group-I exams will be declared soon. The CM said that over 60,000 vacancies will be filled to solve the problem of unemployment within the first year of the Congress rule in the state.

The previous DSC notification was issued by the BRS government in September 2023 to fill 5,089 posts; however, it was put on hold after the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into force in Telangana Assembly polls 2023.
