World University Rankings By Subject 2025: US And UK Universities Tops In 11 Disciplines
The Times Higher Education (THE) has unveiled the World University Rankings by Subject 2025 for 11 disciplines. Notably, universities from the US have secured the top ranks in 9 out of 11 subjects. The UK has secured the top ranks in the remaining two subjects.
The World University ranking by subject covered 11 disciplines including Arts and Humanities, Business and Economics, Computer Science, Education Studies, Engineering, Law, Life Sciences, Medical and Health, Physical Sciences, Psychology, and Social Sciences. This highlights the continued dominance of these two nations in global higher education excellence.

As per the official information, no Asian university secured the top position in any individual subject. However, Chinese and Singapore universities are strongly featured in top 50 for all 11 subjects. 9 Hong kong institutes and 8 Japanese Universities appeared in the THE World University Ranking 2025. The National University of Singapore is positioned at 25th and Peking University and Tsinghua University at 39th place.
Among Indian Universities, Indian Institute of Science (IISC) has secured the top rank followed by Anna Unviersity and Mahatma Gandhi Unviersity.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) leads in Arts and Humanities, Business and Economics, and Social Sciences. Standford University secured top position in Education, Law and Psychology. Harvard University dominates in Engineering and Life Sciences, showcasing the research excellence. The University of Oxford is tops Computer Science and Medical and Health. The California Institute of Technology outperformed in Physical science.
