MT Ramesh is known name in Kerala politics. The Bharatiya Janata Party fielded Ramesh from Kozhikode Lok Sabha constituency for the upcoming election. BJP hopes its state secretary to bring victory.

Ramesh has contested in the 2004 Lok Sabha election, but lost. The strong critic of opposition parties, Ramesh is known to everyone. Recently, he made headlines over his claim that both UDF (United Democratic Front) and LDF (Left Democratic Front). He said both the parties are trying to scramble over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Turning the table of allegations, he said both Congress and CPM is trying eliminate the citizenship of Muslims in India, by promoting discrimination behind the name of CAA. Ramesh claims that both parties are trying to create a riot in Kerala, by confusing people.

CAA is widely perceived as an anti-Muslim law by a vast majority of Indian population. However, Ramesh said that CAA is not an anti-Muslim population like the UDF and LDF make it to be. He added that the law does not affect any citizen of the country.

Ramesh never missed a chance to criticise major political parties of Kerala. During the BJP led Padayatra, he said that in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, it is a pro-Modi vs anti-Modi in Kerala. the BJP member claimed that popular sentiment is in favour of Narendra Modi’s development programmes over the past 10 years.

According to Ramesh, both LDF and UDF politicians are unable to counter the progress report of Modi in developments brought to the country. Talking to reporters during the Padayatra, he said, “the left and UDF politicians have been unable to counter this politically and hence they are wooing the organized religious groups, especially Muslim religious group, to gain mileage”.
