Reportedly, Bollywood actress Neha Sharma is set to step into politics, as hinted by her father Ajay Sharma. The Congress MLA from Bihar”s Bhagalpur told reporters that if Congress gets Bhagalpur seat in the seat arrangements made by the party, he would pitch his daughter to be nominated as a candidate.
“Congress should get Bhagalpur, we will fight and win the seat. If Congress gets Bhagalpur, I would want my daughter Neha Sharma to contest, since I am already a MLA. But if the party wants me to fight, I will do that”, said Ajay Sharma.
He also said that INDIA alliance would “wipe out” BJP from Bihar in these elections. He said, ” Bihar would take the responsibility of removing Narendra Modi from power this time”.
The seat sharing talks between INDIA bloc hit a roadblock when the state”s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ended ties with Congress and joined BJP in January this year.
However, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav said that an official announcement regarding the seat sharing would come out within days. He said there are little issues over one or two seats and everything else is sorted.
Neha Sharma made her acting debut opposite to Emraan Hashmi in Crook. She also stared in films including Yamla Pagla Deewana, Tum Bin 2, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. She was last seen in Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Jogira Sara Ra Ra.
Talking about her experience in working with Nawazuddin, she said, “I always wanted to work with good actors because that’s the end of the day an enriching experience. You learn something new about the craft and I always wanted to work with actors with whom I could get to learn something. Nawaz is not a gimmicky actor, there are certain things and nuances about him that are very subtle and I have really enjoyed this process of working with him”, as quoted by Firstpost.
