Congress Candidate Ram Karan Wins Shahbad Constituency

Ram Karan, the Congress candidate from Shahbad constituency has won the Haryana assembly elections, according to the updates by the Election Commission. Karan had won the 2019 assembly elections on the JJP ticket. Karan emerged victorious by the margin of 6441 votes.

As counting for the 90-member assembly constituencies ended, the BJP has won 48 seats while the Congress trailed behind with 37 seats. The INLD won two seats and the independent candidate received three including India’s richest woman Savitri Jindal. Jindal won from the Hisar Assembly constituency by a margin of 18,941 votes.

The BJP, however, secured hattrick in Haryana, while the Congress lost what it expected. The grand old party had hope to return back to power after a decade. The exit polls had also suggested a spectacular win for the Congress party. The party has, notably alleged EVM issues and unfair practices while refusing to accept the result.
