In a significant move aimed at fostering unity within the Opposition INDIA alliance, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has extended a warm invitation to Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav to join the upcoming Uttar Pradesh leg of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi. The invitation comes amidst recent remarks by Akhilesh Yadav expressing a sense of exclusion from major political events by Congress.
Earlier on Sunday, on Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Akhilesh Yadav has said “Many big events are organised, but we are not invited” when asked about his participation.
The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, a flagship initiative of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, is poised to traverse through the heartlands of Uttar Pradesh, aiming to connect with the grassroots and address issues pertinent to the common citizen. Scheduled to commence on February 16, the Yatra holds the promise of galvanizing support and fostering alliances crucial for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the politically crucial state which has 80 seats.
After Mr Yadav’s comments, responding to queries regarding Akhilesh Yadav”s participation, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh underscored the collaborative spirit of the endeavor, stating that the detailed route and program of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh are currently being finalized. Ramesh expressed optimism regarding the inclusion of constituent parties within the INDIA bloc, emphasizing that their participation would bolster the collective strength of the alliance.
The forthcoming rally, set to take place at the National Inter College in Chandauli”s Saiyadraja, stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts aimed at reshaping the political narrative and forging inclusive alliances in Uttar Pradesh.
