ED Raids Congress Rajasthan Chief; "Elections Come, ED, CBI Become Real 'Panna Pramukh' Of BJP," Says Congress

As the Enforcement Directorate (ED) searches the premises linked to its Rajasthan chief, Govind Singh Dotasra the Congress has alleged that the BJP has unleashed the ED, CBI, and Income Tax Department as their “real Panna Pramukh” on the party. Panna Pramukhs are the BJP’s electoral roll in-charges for election campaigns. According to the ED, Mr. Dotasra is being searched in connection with the alleged leak of exam papers for the recruitment of Rajasthan government school teachers, and searches are also being conducted at six other locations.

The searches, which were followed by the agency seizing ₹12 lakh in cash and “incriminating” documents in raids at seven locations last week, come ahead of the Rajasthan Assembly elections scheduled for November 25. Opposition parties have been alleging that the central government, under which the ED, CBI, and Income Tax Department operate, uses central agencies to target parties that oppose them.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that the developments in Rajasthan are a result of the BJP facing certain defeat in the upcoming elections. He added that the Congress will continue its fight against the misuse of agencies.

“As soon as elections come, ED, CBI, IT etc. become the real “Panna Pramukh” of BJP. Seeing its certain defeat in Rajasthan, Bharatiya Janata Party made its last move! After Chhattisgarh, ED has also started action against Congress leaders engaged in the assembly election campaign in Rajasthan. The dictatorship of Modi government is fatal for democracy. We will continue to fight against the misuse of agencies, the public will give a befitting reply to the BJP,” Congress President wrote on X.

Congress’ Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said the raids are happening because the BJP is afraid of people benefitting from the guarantees announced by the Congress. He also said his son Vaibhav Gehlot received summons from ED to appear before ED.
