Rajasthan Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Rajendra Rathore on Wednesday lashed out at Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, ahead of her visit to Rajasthan and asked her to speak up on the crimes against women in the state.

Ms Gandhi is scheduled to attend an public rally in the poll-bound Rajasthan”s Jhunjhunu district on Wednesday. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot wrote on X that during her visit she would make some big announcements for the homemakers of Rajasthan. It was in such a context, leader of the opposition in Rajasthan Assembly, made the remarks. Mr Rathore said: “Priyanka Gandhi says “Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon.” According to NCRB data, Rajasthan was at the top for crime against women for three consecutive years… Ministers of the government said that rapes happen because it is a state of men. Ministers accepted that women are not safe. I hope she says something on this…” reports ANI.

He then added that nothing going to happen due to Ms Gandhi”s visit. BJP leader says that “Congress has lost public support” and “with the help of leaders they are attempting to regain the support of people but it will not result in success”.

When asked about Gehlot”s tweet about Ms Gandhi”s possible announcements for women, Mr Rathore replied that nothing is going to happen with any announcement.

Adding further, opposition leader said: “People have seen the projects announced by them right in front of their eyes… Nothing is going to happen with any announcement in the government of “Ghoshna-veer”,” reports ANI.

It is Ms Gandhi”s second visit to Rajasthan and during this visit, she will unveil the statue of former Union minister Sisram Ola in Ardawata before addressing the rally. The gathering will be attended by Mr Gehlot and other senior leaders.

Rajasthan will go to booths on November 25 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3.
