Congress candidate Geeta Bhukkal won in the Jhajjar seat by defeating BJP’s Rajesh Kumar by a margin of 14,999 votes which was 13.49% of the total votes cast for the seat. Geeta Bhukkal polled 66345 votes compared to Kaptan Birdhana’s 52790.
Dharmbir Singh of BSP, Geetal Bhukkal of Congress and Kaptan Birdhana of BJP are the major candidates contesting the elections.
In the 2019 assembly elections, Geeta Bhukkal of INC won the seat by defeating Rakesh Kumar of BJP by a margin of 14,999 which was 13.49% of the total votes cast for the seat.
During the 2019 Haryana Assembly election, BJP emerged victorious, bagging 40 of the 90 seats. The BJP formed the government in coalition with Dushyant Chautala-led JJP, which managed to win 10 seats. Meanwhile, the Congress party received 31 seats and the remaining were taken by INLD, Haryana Lokhit Party and independent candidate.
