CPI(M) candidate Xavier Chittilappilly has secured a clear victory in the Kerala Assembly Election 2026 from Wadakkanchery constituency, as per the Election Commission.
Representing the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Chittilappilly won with 70,725 votes and defeated his nearest rival P.N. Vaisakh of the Indian National Congress by a margin of 5,690 votes. Vaisakh finished second with 65,035 votes.
BJP candidate Adv. T.S. Ullas Babu ended in third position with 25,844 votes, trailing significantly behind the two main contenders.
The result reflects a strong performance by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the constituency, with Xavier Chittilappilly maintaining a steady lead throughout the counting process.
The counting of votes was conducted under strict security arrangements, and the outcome adds to the LDF’s overall performance across Kerala in the 2026 Assembly elections.
