BJP candidate Kanwar Singh has won from Mahendragarh constituency with a vote margin of 2,648 votes. He had secured 63,036 votes. Meanwhile, Rai Dan Singh, Congress candidate came in second with 60,388 votes.
Mahendragarh is one of the key constituencies to bag for Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress and regional parties such as Indian National Lok Dal due to the substantial concentration of Jat and Ahir communities. Congress veteran Rao Dan Singh, BJP’s Kunwar Singh Yadav and INLD’s Surender Kaushik are in a three-way battle to woo the Jat and Ahir bastion.
In the 2019 assembly elections, Rao Dan Singh won the seat by securing 46,478 votes and a vote share of 32.43 per cent. Meanwhile, in the 2014 assembly elections, Ram Bilash Sharma of BJP won the seat defeating Bahadur Singh of INLD.
As per the data released by election commission, in the 2024 Haryana assembly elections, the estimate turnout was noted as 72.81%.
During the 2019 Haryana Assembly election, BJP emerged victorious, bagging 40 of the 90 seats. The BJP formed the government in coalition with Dushyant Chautala-led JJP, which managed to win 10 seats. Meanwhile, the Congress party received 31 seats and the remaining were taken by INLD, Haryana Lokhit Party and independent candidate.
