Malegaon Central Election Result: Abdul Khalique Of AIMIM Leads

In the Malegaon Central assembly constituency of Maharashtra, the incumbent MLA and the AIMIM candidate Mufti Mohammad Ismail Abdul Khalique is leading with a margin of 3,406.

As per the Election Commission reports, the AIMIM candidate Abdul Khalique has secured impressive 1,02,826 votes, whereas his rival, Asif Shaikh of DISECL party is trailing with 1,00,107 votes.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Mohammed Ismail Abdul Khalique of AIMIM won in this seat defeating Aasif Shaikh Rasheed of INC by a margin of 38,363 which was 19.15% of the total votes cast for the seat. AIMIM had a vote share of 58.52% in 2019 in this seat.

In the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Shaikh Aasif Shaikh Rashid of INC won in this seat defeating Mufti Moh Ismile Kasmi of NCP by a margin of 16,151 which was 9.65% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 44.99% in 2014 in this seat.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the estimated voter turnout in this Maharashtra constituency was 69.00%. In 2019, this seat registered a turnout of 67.35%, while it was 67.97% in 2014 and 62.74% in 2009. The estimated turnout in 2024 was -1.65% compared to the 2019 turnout.
