New Delhi, March 11, 2024: Today, the National Students” Union of India (NSUI), students body associated with Indian National Congress, staged a protest in opposition to BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde“s comments in regards to amending the Constitution. The demonstration took place in the presence of NSUI National President Varun Choudhary.

“BJP and RSS have “Ram” in their mouth but beside they have “Nathuram”,” said Mr Choudhary during the protest.

In designing the constitution, he added that, many people have given their lives – Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Maulana Azad, Babasaheb Ambedkar.

“Our constitution gives equal rights to everyone, grants freedom of speech. We will not let them change this. It reflects the mindset of RSS and BJP. Immediately, BJP should expel this MP from their party and register an anti-national case against him,” he said.

In a symbolic act of protest, Mr Choudhary burned a half pant, representing RSS, to emphasise the NSUI”s opposition to any attempt to undermine the constitutional values.

Addressing BJP workers in Siddapur taluk on Saturday, Ananthakumar Hedge said: “Constitution has to be amended as Congress people have fundamentally altered it by introducing some unnecessary things. Especially laws that subjugate the Hindu community. If all this has to change, it cannot be done without a two-third majority.”

NSUI Delhi President Kunal Sherawat, Former DUSU Secretary Ashish Lamba, National Coordinator Akash Choudhary, and other hundred of NSUI member participated in protest.
