New Delhi: Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s AAPda (disaster) smirk at the ruling Delhi government, AAP supremo and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal responded that BJP is the party actually in a disaster.

He cited three reasons why the saffron party should focus on its own election campaign in Delhi.

“The disaster isn’t in Delhi; it’s within the BJP. The first disaster is that the BJP doesn’t have a Chief Ministerial face. The second disaster is that the BJP has no narrative. The third disaster is that the BJP has no agenda for the Delhi elections,” India Today quotes, as Kejriwal is saying.

Kejriwal said that for 39 minutes in his 43-minute speech, the Prime Minister has abused Delhi people and the elected government. If the Modi government had performed in ten years, “he would not have needed to abuse people of Delhi,” AAP leader said.

Attacking PM Modi, AAP chief said that the people who are surrounded by luxurious life has no right to talk about the comfort of the common man. On Modi’s reference to a sheeshmahal (glass palace), Kejriwal said that it doesn’t seem appropriate from someone who constructed a house worth Rs. 2,700 crore for himself, travels on a plane worth Rs. 8.400 crore, and wears suits costs Rs. 10 lakh.

“I do not want to indulge in personal attacks. I do not do politics of abuse. I have worked enough in last ten years. I believe in politics of development,” Kejriwal said.

The AAP supremo further attacked the BJP for their failure to deliver on promises made regarding housing to Delhi residents. Kejriwal stressed that the BJP’s 2020 manifesto had pledged pucca houses for all in Delhi by 2022. However, only 4,700 homes had been handed over in five years, he indicated. Continuing further, Kejriwal said that Prime Minister could have built 50 hospitals in the past five years in Delhi, pointing that he himself helped build 5 in that time period.

PM Modi, in his speech at Delhi’s Ashok Vihar’s Ramlila Ground on Friday, has made cutting remark at AAP and stated that the national capital has been surrounded by a “disaster” in the past 10 years. Modi’s speech could be viewed as the launch of BJP campaign for upcoming assembly election in Delhi.
